According to Motorola Digital Cities Ranking , there is a growing implementation of Tele-security applications in digitizing cities of Venezuela. The digital municipalities enrolled in the ranking are in the middle range in terms of applications of Telehealth and Tele-education but are highlighted with respect to the region by index in the area of Tele-security .

According to Convergencia Research, the results of the first stage of the study indicate that the cities of Venezuela stand in security. The Tele-security involves various features, such as having police and firefighters of the municipality interconnected systems, video surveillance in public, can contact the security forces through a home page or from the website of the municipality.

"The digitization of a city works, among other things, to reduce levels of uncertainty through technology. The fact that we have secure and reliable communications between law enforcement, video surveillance systems and the availability of broadband wireless networks across the county is one of the most prominent features of a Digital City, "said Manuel Moreno, Regional Marketing Manager for Motorola Wireless Broadband.

Venezuelan cities that participated in the ranking were Chacao Motorola-Caracas-Miranda and Sucre Valencia. In total, the study involved the participation of 150 cities from 15 countries in Latin America. Besides Venezuela, the city registered the Motorola Ranking from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay.

The Digital Cities Motorola Ranking is the first study of its kind in Latin America and aims to determine the level of digitization of the municipalities registered. The first stage aimed to establish levels of digitization of the cities registered through ventures developed by the Public Administration . In the second stage, the quantitative and qualitative study will focus on the top 25 best cities ranked in the first stage.
