First Regional Seminar eHealth and Telemedicine: Connecting and access to social welfare

Caracas will host the First Regional Seminar eHealth and Telemedicine: Connecting and access to social welfare, which will discuss the latest developments and experiences in the use of information technology and telecommunications as tools to facilitate the provision of medical and health services and provide access to remote villages or low-income health networks.
The event scheduled for 22 and 23 October next will be held at the headquarters of the Economic System (SELA Latin American and Caribbean) and is made possible by a strategic alliance between that body and pan-regional CAVEDATOS, the Venezuelan Chamber of Business Information Technology. Peter Cernik, executive vice president of business organization, explained that this seminar will feature active multilateral agencies such as the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and ECLAC, together with prominent speakers from Brazil, Mexico, Ecuador and the USA. States., who will cover topics ranging from technology to the area of public policy in eHealth and Telemedicine.


Saadia Vegas Sanchez, director of the Information and Knowledge Network of SELA, explained that "the fundamental objective of this seminar is to create a meeting place for regional dialogue and to learn, analyze and share experiences and best practices that are carried out in Latin America and the Caribbean to take preventive services, diagnosis and control to remote areas and historically underserved. "
The program on Thursday 22 October will start with the lecture "Trends in Telemedicine in Latin America and the Caribbean: The perspectives of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO)" and continue with three sessions: Telehealth Public Policy in America America and the Caribbean: Inclusion Technology for Social Inclusion, Telemedicine: Applications, products and services, Telemedicine and Integrated Health Services in Latin America and the Caribbean. For its part, the program on Friday October 23 has been divided into three sessions: Technological Innovation and Health Management in Latin America and the Caribbean Venezuelan experiences in Internet health information, telemedicine, Social Responsibility and Social Inclusion to close with photo Telemedicine in Latin America and the Caribbean: Realities and challenges.
