Successfully held the Forum "Free Knowledge and Technological Sovereignty within the Bolivarian Revolution

As part of the V National Conference on Technological Sovereignty, organized by the Collective Teletriunfador, performed alongside numerous social groups and individuals committed to strengthening the country's technological sovereignty, the Forum "Free Knowledge and Technological Sovereignty within the Bolivarian Revolution , "which provided a meeting place for the organized community, political and intellectual movements in order to raise awareness about the importance of free knowledge and technological self-determination within a social framework based on an expanding solidarity of the peoples .

The forum was attended by important personalities such as Carlos Figueira (CNTI), Eduardo Saman, William Lengemann, Lars Goldschlager, Daniela Rodriguez (c), Jean Pyert Oropeza (CANTV), Omar Maza and Ernesto Silva Front of Workers Socialist INTEVEP (FTTSI).

Carlos Figueira began his intervention contextualizing the political situation in Venezuela, and as the state has made progress in several measures to strengthen the country's technological sovereignty, one of the Canaima project development, and all its derivatives Canaima Educational projects, the operating system GNU / Linux Canaima, among others. Speaking Eduardo Saman spoke about the importance of fighting the capitalist scheme of the patent system, which affects the public health service and agri-food value chain. Meanwhile Daniela Rodriguez of Free Node Collective commented on organized groups and the role it should take to reverse the conditions of kidnapping and privatization of knowledge. Meanwhile Ernesto Silva discussed the importance of science to and from the village and questioned the traditional approach from educational institutions and research has been addressing this issue.

To close the activity, the Collective TeleTriunfador Juan Cisneros and organizer of the forum, read the manifesto was "Free Knowledge, Intellectual Property and the Bolivarian Revolution," which proposes a set of measures to promote free knowledge in Venezuelan society and invites all Latin American and Caribbean nations to join in this fight.
